The treatment of melasma is still challenging, various modalities from topical treatment to laser/light therapy have been developed, without satisfactory results, due to side effects and recurrences. Recently, there is a promising novel therapy in treating melasma with tranexamic acid (TA). It can be administered through topical, intradermal, microneedling, and oral routes.
